Helping Japan
Certainly we have all been shaken by the waves of terrible news from Japan over these past few days. I have heard from many of you with questions about what we can do to help.
This is the news – that we can give at this time:
· Fund Raising Policy: In the early stages of disasters, money is often more helpful than “care packages”, therefore GSWPA will temporarily lift the restrictions to raise funds for other organizations. Until September 30, 2011, Troops/groups/girls may raise money to aid victims of this horrible disaster. Please use your best judgment in selecting/donating to disaster relief agencies.
· Helping Girl Scouts of Japan: We are very concerned about our Girl Scout sisters who are members of Girl Scouts of Japan and we would like to provide some movement-wide support to them. Details are not available yet, but GSUSA will be setting up an account to collect donations to go to Girl Scouts of Japan so that one large donation on behalf of all of Girl Scout sisters in the USA. As we learn more from GSUSA, we will keep you updated.
Should you have any additional questions, feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Angie

Girl Scout Cookies
If troops want to go outside of their Service Unit they must ask their Cookie Manager to ask the Cookie Manager who has that area.
The only exception to this rule is Sam's Club in West Mifflin as they refuse to work under our rules....we have tried but they allow anyone to ask them for a booth sale directly and function on a first come first served basis.
Our delivery date for cookies is Feb. 17th. Booth sales will start Feb. 25th "NO EXCEPTIONS" prior to this date.
